Pakistan: Land of Opportunities

With a population of more than 200 million, Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world and the 33rd largest by landmass.

Impact Resolutions was fortunate enough to visit this beautiful and beguiling land and found a nation full of economic potential with some of the warmest people we’ve ever met. In fact, Pakistan may very well be one of the best-kept secrets on the planet.

Don’t just take our word for it: in their 2017 annual review of the most underrated economy of the world, influential US publication Bloomberg Businessweek stated Pakistan was a clear winner and “one of the world’s most pleasant surprises." Key findings included:

  • A stock market rise of 46% in 2017 compared to the previous year;

  • Poverty reduction of 50% compared to 2002;

  • A key household livelihood indicator: almost half of all households own a washing machine, up from only 13% in 1991.
