Exploring topics and approaches of mutual interest to our
partner communities, team members and associates
Drawing upon technical and moral support from a diverse group of practitioners, our Research and Development unit provides an opportunity for employees and associates to develop concepts and ideas that are meaningful to them—sometimes these concepts may be underdeveloped as a discipline.
Ideally, these concepts should be applied with an objective of assisting individuals or communities in need of technical support, or otherwise lacking the resources to obtain it.
A sample of our interests includes, but is not limited to:
Ethical supply chains and issues of unethical recruitment
Labour protection models for migrant Canadian farm workers
Condominium development community consultation
Social determinants of Indigenous peoples’ health
An alternative pre-final investment decision impact assessment model
Individuals and communities are invited to apply for potential research and development partnership opportunities as part of our Community Investment and Partnership initiative.
Students interested in furthering a post-secondary partnership with us are also encouraged to apply.
Cultural and practice fit
Are we able to assist you? Would there be a social benefit? If so, how and why?
Would your proposal impact the people around you—in a negative as well as positive way? Tell us how.
Do we have the resources to meet your timeline?
If we agree to work with each other, we'd require a proposed work plan and service agreement.
As a certain percentage of our income helps fund our non-profit initiatives, we must consider our ability to balance paid and non-paid work.
Barriers to achieving an objective
If you're unable to achieve your objective because of:
Insufficient labour capacity;
Needing help for funding proposals and/or strategy development;
A lack of funds to use our services and/or resources;
we'd invite you to consider an in-person or virtual interview with our leadership team.
